There is no problem...by default, Fedora 15 doesn't allow root to login through the GUI. A look at the Fedora website or a brief Google search would tell you this, as well as the way around it:
http://www.tejasbarot.com/2011/05/22...gin-fedora-15/

And if this is related to your other thread, why did you reload Fedora 15?? The latest is 17, so if you reloaded an old version of the OS on what (essentially) a new installation, that doesn't make much sense.

Why not?? If you're the root user, you can change ANYTHING on the system.

If you want to log in as root at the GUI, then you need to change SOMETHING to do it, since it's disabled by default. If you don't want to change it, then you won't be able to log in as root at the GUI, which is how it is set by default. Those are your options...change it and log in, or don't change it and DON'T log in.

And I will say what MANY have said before...logging in as root is a BAD IDEA, no matter if it's through the GUI, or through a terminal. Root access should be used sparingly.

root GUI login in fedora was REMOVED way WAY back in fedora 10 ( fedora 8 and 9 gave a "--WARNING-- do not login as root")
in fedora 10 to "the end of time"
root gui login IS not ONLY disabled BY fedora
BUT BY GNOME ALSO
( yes there are ways around it
but if you do not already know HOW to do that then you should NOT be doing that

ALSO stay CURRENT fedora 15 hit it's END OF LIFE last month
Install the Current and supported version "Fedora 17"

you NEED to use " su -" ( see the " -" in there )
fedora separates things that a normal user can do and what ONLY ROOT SHOULD be able to do
