apt-get upgrade packages held back


hi when trying to upgrade my packages i get the following error
Code:
chris@home2-linux:~$ sudo apt-get upgrade
Password:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
The following packages have been kept back:
  linux-image-386 linux-restricted-modules-386
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 2 not upgraded.
chris@home2-linux:~$
should i upgrade these packages and if so how should i upgarde them ?

You need root rights. su into root using terminal

thanks for your help but same problem surley

sudo apt-get upgrade
is the same as
Code:
su
apt-get upgrade
i always thought that sudo was just a way as acting as a su for one command ? any other ideas ?
