apt-get upgrade lists many packages kept back


Any idea why this might be? (the list seems to have grown in past months, but I might be wrong about that)

Hi

apt-get upgrade skips upgrades that would introduce conflicts or require additional packages to be installed, so certain packages get held back.
If you want to update the packages held back you would need to do
apt-get dist-upgrade
