Anyone using College Linux...I need help!!

I'm a linux novice...so I decided to go with CL. After I installed it, I was able to use it, and it worked flawlessly. I decided to change my display settings, and I had to restart. Upon restarting, I have to sign into my home network, which works fine, and I get the message "no mail". Everything is great up until that point. Then I get tj@localhost~$?

Where do I go from there?

Anything would be greatly appreciated...I feel like a retard...

TIA.
