I have partitioned my hard dive and am ready to install RH9 (I use this op system at school) but before I install it to dual boot is there any suggestion you can give me, ie problems that I might encounter... I am not looking forward to installing this, it is a bit daunting. Any uggestions will be appreciated...........

Hard to say without knowing more about your system than just the processor.

What video card does it have? NIC? Type of HDD?

You shouldn't have any real problems as long as your hardware is supported by the Linux kernel. I'd recommend checking the RH site and make sure all of your hardware is supported and if there are any hardware specific notes.

The installation itself is pretty straight forward. You just follow it step by step.

You'll need to learn the specifics of your system, but it sounds like you'll be fine. "On board video" can cover a pretty wide range of video card driver modules.

The installation should auto detect your hardware, it doesn't sound like you have anything problematic. (Based on the info provided)

I'd say go ahead with the install. If you run into problems, you can ask more specific questions and folks here will be happy to help.

The trickest part for most noobs is partitioning and you've said that's done, so you should be good to go.
