anti virus, spyware, adware, etc..


My understanding is that linux isnt very prone to these much, but if they are, what freeware/open source programs are the ones to use?

AND How do you cofigure fire wall in kde?

I've found ClamAV to be about the best AV app out there. I don't really bother abouot adware and such because it just never seems to be a problem.

Linux firewall is basically iptables. I use Guarddog to configure it, but there are other tools available as well.

Don't need it, don't bother unless you're running a mail server that is sending email messages to a Windoze box.

virus scanning is not that necessary on linux but take a look at sourceforge for more free programs
