alternative to msn messenger

Hey

I want to be able to talk my family and friends who use msn messenger, so I wanted to know whether there's a windows emulator that will run it - I've already tried wine, it doesn't work - or an im program that will work with messenger.
Thanks

Dont use msn instead use gaim. u can download it from sourceforge.net but the only problem with it is it doesn't allow u to use audio or webcam as far as i know

aMSN would probably be easier than gaim if they're windows users. IMO it looks better and is much closer to microsoft msn client.

I have a related question. I have been looking everywhere to find a program that can get me to use audio and webcam with other windows msn messenger users but can not find one. I really need this to talk to my gf online, anybody have a solution for this?
