alsa not detecting SB Audigy 2


hello thur

when i run alsamixer, in the corner i see the onboard sound on my motherboard

buti have a SB Audigy 2 sound card

how can i get it to detect my card rather than the one on the mobo?

should i get the latest alsa drivers?

thanks for the help

hrm...

i upgraded to the latest alsa driver but it still doesnt work

any suggestions?

when i run that i get:

FATAL: Module emu10k1 not found.

do i have to download it and install it?

Have you disabled onboard sound in th bios?

yeah onboard sound is turned off

hrm... strange

it detects Sound Blaster1.0/2.0 when it looks for legacy pci cards but...

after i hit ok when it says

"SHall i try all possible DMA and IRQ combinations?...."

it says:

RESULT:

No legacy cards found
