It can connect to several p2p networks. It is just a daemon though, you will also need a client. I use giftoxic, which is a gtk gui for it.
There is also Frostwire, amule and several other p2p programs.
Most Mandrake "newbie" problems can be resolved by going to Easy URPMI
and following the directions to set up your sources. Instead of resorting to tarballs and "wild" rpms, just "urpmi NAMEOFPACKAGE" on the command line, or use the Mandrake Control Center to install software.

Try setting up urpmi if you haven't already done so and install which ever app you choose that way.
