Talking Access on a hdd as User not root


what do i need to do to access a drive i have it mounted and i have a icon but i don't have permision to access as a user only as root... i have mandrake 10.1...

twice today ...

I assume that the fs on the drive you're talking
about is NOT a Linux file-system?
