Access to root applications as a user

Hi, maybe this is a newbie question. I'm using Fedora Core 3, I started opening some root applications as user (applications like up2date, users management, etc). I clicked on the keys icon on the task bar and was asked if I wanted to keep authorization to use root apps, I said "no", but now I can't use these applications (i'm not even prompted for root password, I just can't launch them). I tried elimminating the user account and creating a new one, but this gave no result. My question is, how can I change this and use the root apps again?? Thanks in advance.

I'm not a Fedora user, but it seems to me that if you logged in as root just long enough to change what you described back again, it would do the trick.

As you probably know, it's NOT a good idea to log in as root and operate, because you can easily create all kinds of damage by accident. But sometimes just for one or two things it's the easiest way to accomplish what you want. I would try logging in as root, attempting the above, and regardless of the outcome logging out again right away and logging in as normal user.

Hope this works.
