about apt source.list


hi everybody.
I have ubuntu edgy on a dell 1300.
my question is:
may I put a directory in /etc/apt/source.list
and put the *.deb in this diroctory and use apt-get install?
have a nice day.

apt-get install <filename>.deb works, you can temporarily place the .deb file in /tmp/ or something like that. You don't have to change the /etc/apt/source.list to install that file.

really I never knew that worked, I allways uesd dpkg -i <filename>.deb
