xp and linux pdc

when I log my xp onto the pdc the desktop short cuts etc all disappear
the user on the xp machine is the admin account but if I try to add a user to the xp machine it looks for admin passwd
Is there any way to keep desktop shorts etc and have admin rights while logged onto pdc

Any help would be great

Hey gizbon, this is FAD (functions as designed). Has nothing to do with linux, when a win2k or xp user logs into a domain they are actually a different user than the user that logs into the local machine. You could copy your profile up to the linux box to fix.

You would have to edit the rights of the domain user and give them admin rights of the machine in question.

It's a windows domain thing, rather than a local user thing.

Slick.
