wvdial is calling my AT&T worldnet password invalid

I'm using the hidden userid in password that's buried in the account information and have checked to make sure it was entered right. It appears to be having issues with a '{' that att put in the middle of it's password string. If I remove or change that one character it will dial and attempt to login, otherwise it gives an invalid password field error and cancels out. I've used the same user id and info to connect in XP without att's dialer and at one point a long time ago on version of Red Hat. I am running Ubuntu 6.10. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Is there not any way to change your password to log into ATT? { is an odd character to have in a password field.

sorry, was out of town for work. To my understanding, that password cannot be changed. When the account is created it assigns a long number@worldnet.att.net and a series of characters for a password. These are separate from the ones you can change for email access. Not sure why except it makes most people use their dialer to get online. Though I know in various versions of windows you could make a generic dialup connection and put those entries in the username and password and it would work.

Support for special character in the password use escape character support.
So if you have a character like { you must enter it as this '{'
