Wireless working but not (N220)

OK can't figure this one out. I am trying (read failing) to install linux on my Samsung N220 netbook. This netbook seems to be linux proof.

This is a last ditch attempt before I go with either arch or debian (which will apparently work but require a lot more work) hoping they will actually work where all else fail.

I've got a booting version of LinuxMint LDXE working but my problem is wireless. It seems to be working fine except it can't see my wireless network, it can see numerous neighbouring networks but not mine. WHY?!?

Its not hidden, every other computer can see it (windows, linux, android etc) what is wrong with this netbook?

could you please provide some more information. Which NIC

lspci -k | grep -iA5 wire

and which encryption is your wireless network using? Which router/accesspoint are you using? And could you please post the output of the command iwconfig?
