Post Wireless problem

Greetings there.
Today I bought a new laptop with Ubuntu integrated into it, I have never heard of it but decided to give it a try. I had 401 something pending updates to which I agreed to, after downloading ( Via wireless ) the updates ( 390 mbs ) I was asked to reboot the laptop.
After it came back I was greeted with a Message " Wired Network disconnected " same goes for the wireless icon on the top right.

As far as I'm aware I have the 12.04 version or had at least, not sure if it upgraded me further?
I did try to google my problem and did infact try some sudo commands.
Currently I can't select "enable wifi" on the drop down menu, and I can't do it "manually" through the network settings either. Also the Alt + f2 ( has wirless icon on the keyboard ) does not work either.

When I input sudo lshw -C network in the terminal I get:
Code:
  *-network
       description: Ethernet interface

I'm currently writing this from my home PC the laptop near me.

I tried "sudo rfkill unblock all" did nothing to my problem.

Well anyway I'm completely new to ubuntu and have no idea what happened or why, and how to even attempt to fix it.

Problem is that I got this problem exactly after I downloaded updates/rebooted.
It worked fine just when I got it.
