What SNMP manager tool would you recommend?

hello

I'm trying to learn about SNMP but I don't know which SNMP management tool to install.Any suggestions?
As an agent Im thinking of using snmpd daemon

And last but not least...is learning SNMP a must if one wants to master network security?

thank you

If you're looking for an SNMP MANAGEMENT console, though, you're going to want to look in the direction of something similar to OpenNMS, which is an open source tomcat-based SNMP management platform.
