VSFTPD virtual user can upload, delete, but not download !

Hello,

Since many hours and days i try to configure vsftpd to be able to login using a virtual user account, i can now login, upload, and delete, but not, as what i have uploaded, download !

Two days ago, i didn't be able to login because pam.d didn't be able to open the vsftpd_login.db file in /etc/ but now i can. Don't ask me how i did it because i don't know ! LOL

Then, it was not possible to upload so i put on "anon_upload_enable" and "anon_other_write_enable" to YES that accept anonymous uploads and writes commands (anonymous login is forbiden).
So, i had uploaded many files.
First time in a sub-directory but i didn't see them so i moved them in the first directory of the ftp server and i see them since.
I didn't be able to delete so i put on ascii_upload_enable and ascii_download_enable to YES and i can now.
But, i can't download them ! (Forbiden)

Here see my vsftpd.conf file :
anonymous_enable=NO
local_enable=YES
write_enable=YES
anon_upload_enable=YES
anon_mkdir_write_enable=NO
anon_other_write_enable=YES
chroot_local_user=YES
guest_enable=YES
guest_username=virtual
listen_port=21
pasv_min_port=30000
pasv_max_port=30999
pam_service_name=ftp
ascii_upload_enable=YES
ascii_download_enable=YES

Can somebody help me please ?

Thank you

Exalik

if you have enabled anonymous connections and you are usign them then you should have:
anonymous_enable=NO
set to yes

If you want users to login you shouldn;t have anything about anonymous connections. Does the user you are trying to download with have permissions to access the files?

I found an entry "anon_world_readable_only" that if set will only allow you to download your files if they are world readable (by default this value is set and since I didn't see it in your conf file that means it's set)

Depending on what kind of rights your virtual users have (if they are setup as local user rights or anonymous rights) this may be related to your problem.

I also have a very "tricky" installation of VSFTP on my system and have spend a few days already trying to figure out every available setting.

check the man page for more information, "man vsftpd.conf" and that will help you too (found a lot of settings that I wasn't aware of previously).
