VNC Grapical Problem

I feel like a tool for posting this because i know ive seen this posted here when i was first installing VNC but for all my searching over the past few hours i can't find the post.

My problem is that after finally getting VNC to start a KDE session i can now log in prefectly fine and everything is peachy except that the quality of the graphics is really low. The fonts are all blocky and most of the icons/most of the graphics are missing. I have started with the command "vncserver -geometry 1024x768 -depth 32" but still nothing. The resolution is 1024x768 (size) but looks crap. have also tried -geometry 800x600 and depth 24.

My xstartup file is::

#!/bin/sh

[ -r $HOME/.Xresources ] && xrdb $HOME/.Xresources
xsetroot -solid grey
vncconfig -iconic &
xterm -geometry 80x24+10+10 -ls -title "$VNCDESKTOP Desktop" &
#twm & <------ Never Mind these (just for testing)
#gnome-session & <--------------------|
startkde & |
#exec /etc/X11/init/xinitrc <--------------------|

also i have heard people refering to the exec /etc/X11/init/initrc command for starting the KDE vnc session but it doesn't seem to work for me is this nessesary?

Thanks in advance
