Using two network cards?

I have a laptop with integrated wireless, which is great for just basic file transfer from the web and for file browsing. I have an NFS share on my server where I dump a lot of rather large files to keep my laptop freed up a bit. I want to know if it's possible to use my ethernet adapter, eth0, to transfer files to my server so that it doesn't take so long to backup my laptop.

Yes, you can use both cards, but if want to use them at the same time, they have to be on different networks.
