two network cards - one for local network, one for http/vsftpd server

I have been running a linux machine for a few years now with no problems. I use it for the following: web server and ftp server. It is connected to the net with a fixed IP using PPPoE, and there are no other computers connected to it. I have a separate network connection that handles all my other computers internet and lan traffic. My only access to this server, however, has been thru ftp, and I would like to connect it to my local lan. I have tried to install another network card in the server, but as soon as I do that, I can no longer access the web/ftp server from the internet. This is what I would like to have:

eth0 - connected to lan (with samba)

eth1 (pppOe)- connected to internet and acting as a web server and ftp server.

I have read the forums, but I have never seen this same setup explained. I am unsure whether it involves iptables or port forwarding.

Thanks

I will toss out a SWAG.

If you have an integrated ethernet adapter and you add a PCI card the PCI card will be scanned first and be assigned eth0. Therefore the module being assigned to eth0 will probably be the wrong one.

If you have 2 PCI cards the one closer to the AGP slot will be scanned first. I'm up on FC3 but in the past you would assign the modules via the /etc/modules.conf file. Change the file to match the desired ethx and its module.
