Question "Users server"

Hello Everybody,

I have to administrate 2 networks and I think that it would be a good idea to have only one computer(one in each network, of course!) to store the users name an password.
One network has Linux and Macs computers and the server is going to be a linux one.
The other network has linux and macs too, but the server is going to be a netbsd.
I read about ldap, nis... but... What do you recomend?
Does Anyone have any experience?

Thank you,

.edu
