I am trying to install NIC card and when I open the readme.txt file of this card it say to "Compile the driver source files and it will generate sc92031.o"
but when I try to compile the source code nothing happens.
Syntax that I am using to compile is
gcc sc92031.o and then press enter key
it show that it is compiling the file when when I do the ls it does not say any file with the extension of .o
I have also tried to run 'make install' command but nothing happens
The source code should be in a file with a .c extension, not .o. You may also need to use gcc's -c option (which is for compile but don't link), i.e. "gcc -c sc92031.c". Post any error messages you get.
It would be very helpful if you would post your distro, version and 32bit/64bit. On hardware related problems, you might have better luck if you post the hardware you are talking about (in this case the nic in question). A lot of the hardware has been seen by other users and they may know of easier/better solutions.
