nic card driver


i have a accton nic card so what driver would i use in a gentoo installation?

Boot the Gentoo CD and type in lsmod and see what it uses. Then build that in your kernel. That is if the card works with the boot CD.

Never used that one before so I don't have the answer, just a way to find it.

thanx for ur response, i found the answer on the gentoo forums though, if u have a accton nic card u have to use the 8139too driver which is the RealTek RTL-8139 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter support located in the kernel configuration.

Network device support ---> Ethernet (10 or 100Mbit) ---> RealTek RTL-8139 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter support.
