This is weird

This is kind of strange, I finally configured my RH9 server to host a website and nameserver. Everything works great on the server side. People are able to use my DNS server for their computers and the internet is able to connect to my domain name. The only thing is that my server can't resolve hosts for itself. When I log into X as root or as a user, I can't browse the internet. I can't use the ping utility and I can't use the nslookup utility. What is the deal? It is as if my server has no local network attached. My server can resolve hosts for other people but not for itself.

Well, I have seem to have fixed the problem. In my regular DNS settings, I was using Zoneedit as my first two DNS servers and my college's DNS server as the third. Well, I put my college as the primary server and nothing else and it worked. Here's the thing, the reason why I didn't want to use my college's DNS server was because they are at times highly unreliable. That is why I had Zoneedit as my primary and secondary. Obviously that didn't work. Now I am wanting to know why it didn't work. Does Zoneedit only allow a certain type of lookup? If so, are there any other free DNS servers that I could use instead of my school's?
