Success with speedtouch

Thanks to those who helped out - I am now connected. I don't really know what led to me finally connecting - I reinstalled Suse and started over again. I did exactly the same as before and this time it worked - thanks again.

For anyone who needs to know how - I downloaded and installed the latest driver from Sourceforge, following the 'howto' which comes with it. It was incredibly simple altho' for some unexplained reason it didn't work the first time I tried it !

Hello scagman ... I am in Northumberland, but am having a slightly different problem: I upgraded to SuSE 9.3 and now my bloody modem won't work ! Do you know of any potential solutions to this problem ?

yo man, I'm in the Toon by central station. What modem do you have, I have the purple/maroon speedtouch and I have just upgraded to Suse 9.3 too but got it too work by using the same driver. I just ran ./speedtouchconf.sh, filled in my details and that was it. However, I am having to do this everytime I want to log on to the net - I'm still trying to suss that one out.
