SPAM preventation gateway.
Hey guys,
I want to build up a linux gateway which has a role of preventing spam and virus. This will be sitting in front of my windows mail server (unfortunately). And will search the incoming mail , look for a specific predefined words for preventing spam and some dangereous file extensions. If it would find anything, then all it'll be directed to the trashcan, the clean emails will be forwarded to the windows mail server..
Sounds like nice, but I have no clue how to set this up.
Any information regarding to this?
Thank you
As a starting point try Google the web or Freshmeat for "spamasassin", "milter", "mime defang", "mail content filter", "UCE", "renattach", like that.
If you feel an adventurous vibe comin on, try mixing in words like "manual, "howto", you get it :-]

Thanks for the reply..
I've found IMgate works parallel with Imail. And this is exactly what I'm looking for.
Filters SPAM and virus, strictly recommended to everybody.
Oh by the way, It's free.
