Slow PPP connection

I have a RH 7.3 server that I ppp into. When I dial in from my Win2k box it connects at 20+ kbs. I am dialing from an external USR 56K to the same model modem on the server.

Why does it connect at such a slow speed?

If I dial from my Win2K box to an ISP it connects at 50+kbs.

I'm not sure if there is something on the Linux side thats slowing the connection down.

Any ideas??

you could try this

setserial /dev/ttyS0 spd_hi

or substitute one of the other options for spd_hi

Code:

          spd_hi	use 56kb instead of 38.4kb
	  spd_vhi	use 115kb instead of 38.4kb
	  spd_shi	use 230kb instead of 38.4kb
	  spd_warp	use 460kb instead of 38.4kb
	  spd_cust	use the custom divisor to set the speed at 38.4kb
				(baud rate = baud_base / custom_divisor)
	  spd_normal	use 38.4kb when a buad rate of 38.4kb is selected

on kppp settings the speed try first 115200 if slow still try then
57600 ether one should work
