Setting up ADSL

Ok, I am running Slackware 9.0 with the following hardware, and would like to connect to the internet.

NetGear FA311 Fast Ethernet Adapter -->
SMC SMC7004AWBR Wireless Barricade -->
3Com HomeConnect ADSL Modem -->
My ISP, telus.net

If someone could please walk me through this very slowly I would be most grateful. Slackware is recognizing my PCI card (FA311) but despite my attempts at adsl-setup and netconfig, adsl-start times out. I believe instead of trying to connect to telus.net (which I have previously tried) I should first connect to the barricade - how to do that though, I am unsure.

Thanks for your time,
Cam
