samba woes

I am setting up Samba on my Gateway PC so that I can access the files that have been uploaded etc to ftp. the setup is as follows

Gateway Machine RH9

SMB server running
host: gateway
workgroup: WORKGROUP

however the pc's i want to connect to it are within a domain called MYDC

I have created the appropriate samba user and username and password match both my linux password and my windows workstation pc.

Are there any commands / lines I need to select to allow connections from machines outside of the workgroup?

I can seem to get around the network from the gateway box

Any ideas?

Chris
