Samba, LDAP, LAM & SMBLDAP-TOOL Understanding

I would like to create a centralized account database using LDAP to centrally manage my windows network using Samba as my PDC. I am confused about the whole process. I have read an article from IBM

PHP Code:
https://www6.software.ibm.com/developerworks/education/l-ldapsamba/
I installed and setup LDAP, Samba and I am having troubke using SMBLDAP-Tools scripts. A friend of mine recommended using LAM from sourceforge to due this. My question is on using LAM. I have already installed and setup LDAP and Samba. Will LAM create the accounts and add populate my LDAP database and ease the process of having to use SMBLDAP-TOOLS scripts which is tedious. What is easest way to due this looking at it from a management aspect of things?
