Running Mandelbrot mpi program given with mpich installation

My beowulf cluster is runing fine with LAM-MPI.Mpi programs are beig executed. No rsh or ssh hassles are there BUT
When I try to run the Mandelbrot program given with mpich installation as example,it gives the following error. All conditions I know including setting the DISPLAY variable etc. have been taken care of.

[dinesh@dumb2 dinesh]$ lamnodes
n0 dumb1.domain.net:1
n1 dumb2.domain.net:1
[dinesh@dumb2 dinesh]$ mpirun -np 2 pmandel
pmandle requires at least 2 processes (master + slaves)
pmandle requires at least 2 processes (master + slaves)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems that [at least] one of processes that was started with mpirun
did not invoke MPI_INIT before quitting (it is possible that more than
one process did not invoke MPI_INIT -- mpirun was only notified of the
first one, which was on node n0).

mpirun can *only* be used with MPI programs (i.e., programs that
invoke MPI_INIT and MPI_FINALIZE). You can use the "lamexec" program
to run non-MPI programs over the lambooted nodes.

[dinesh@dumb2 dinesh]$

What can be donne about this? How can I run it on 2 comps? I can scale up my cluster to more than 2 nodes only after few days.Till then can I not Mandel on two nodes - n0 or dumb1(node) and n1 or dumb2(server)?
An immediate reply would be extremely helpful and appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Regards,
Dinesh
