Removing "Scope:Link" after inet6 addr (CentOS 5.5)

Hello networking experts.

I am running CentOS 5.5 and just done with configuring IPv6 on my system. when i do the testing "ifconfig", the IPv6 address is there.

inet6 addr: xx::xx:xx/64 Scope:Link

Can I know what is the meaning of the "Scope:Link" and hox can i REMOVE that line? because i messes up with my Apache config.

thanks

Let me guess, it starts with fe80.

It's a link-local address, and I'm pretty sure you can't remove it without disabling IPv6. You need to look elsewhere to solve your Apache problem.

Yes it starts with fe80. The Apache will get the 'invalid argument' error when i edit the Listen in httpd.conf. example:

Listen [fe80::21e:bff:fed6:7bb8]:80

this should be correct, but i get the invalid argument error. I know using Listen 80 or Listen [::]:80 can solve this, but i want to make the Apache to listen to specific IPv6 addr.

I need help.
