red hat 9/Windows Xp filesharing slow
Hi,
Be warned - I am a total newbie when it comes to Linux...
However, I have recently installed Red Hat 9, and I am trying to get filesharing to work between my Linuxbox and my Xp-Pro machine.
Everything seems fine. I can browse and share files over the network through Samba, but problem is that transferring files is extremely slow.
Downloading files from the internet is at top speeed, though, on both machines.
I am using a switch with a DSL connection.
I had no problems back when both machines ran XP.
I would be very grateful for any advice....
Here' s my SMB.conf:
