question about annoying behavior of dsl modem

sorry if this has been asked already, even more if it was by myself
but.. i am getting a bit fed up with a particularly annoying behavior of my dsl modem

a 2701HG-B Gateway

every now and then the modem will drop connection and once it comes back online it keeps redirecting any attempt to request the page(s) i was trying to access while the connection down to a page with this message

Quote:
Success
Resolution Successful
The error has been successfully resolved. Please close down your browser and restart it to continue browsing online.
and won't let me browse those pages until i either do what it says.. or wait a few minutes

any idea on how i can prevent that or at least how to get around it? i'ts very annoying especially when i have a dozen tabs open that i don't wanna lose track of

and i've tried clearing cookies and cache, doesn't always work it appears to be a dns hijack of some sort, not sure.

Maybe you need to talk to your provider and see if you can get the link sorted out. I have a home hub which goes to broadband diagnostics if the network is down. I haven't found any switches that can turn this sort of thing off. When it's down the router resolves any request to the routers IP address and displays the diagnostics page. You could create your own DNS server and not ask the router to resolve your domain requests.
