Pure-FTP install

I just installed Pure-FTP on a SuSE 7.3 box, along with Apache 2.0.

I am trying to use Apache to host an internal website for our office staff. I setup two users who are the only users that need admin rights to this server... along with a group called techdept. The two users are assigned to the techdept group and I want them to have full read and write access to /usr/local/apache2/htdocs.

When I log either user into an FTP session through Pure-FTP, both users can browse to /usr/local/apache2/htdocs but if you try to upload an html file or an image to that folder... you get an error stating that the user doesn't have rights to that folder.

I am new to Linux, but a guru when it comes to Win XX and Netware. It appears that the rights are not set correctly on my group techdept. How do you change the rights so that members of the techdept group can write to /usr/local/apache2/htdocs?
