Problems with Internet Sharing

Good day.

I recently set up a server with Mandriva 2007 (free) version on one of my pcs to work as apache/mail/internet server.

Evertyhing is setup right, even it has its own domain. The real problem is inside my LAN... more likely my windows pc.

Basicallly my windows pc can see the shared files i have on the linux server over SAMBA, i can access them, but the windows machine doesnt has internet... even though i set up the parameters over Configure your Computer => Network => Sharing an Internet Connection.

Also, in my linux computer i cannot see any files shared in the windows computer.

I doubt there's anything wrong with the ips or dns whatsoever, but is something i forgot to configure? I really new to linux, but so far everything has come right except that.

Thank you for any advice you can give me

Here is it at the best of what i can represent:

Here

So basically the linux server is connected directly to the cable modem, and thru a switch both pc's connect with each other.

The linux ip is 192.168.0.1 over the lan, the windows ip is 192.168.0.2

So far i have been trying to configure Shorewall, but with no luck. I dont even know if the proxy of my server is squid or shorewall, which in either case im pretty sure both are horribly configured.

But that's all. Also i don[t know if has something to do with the iptables of my machine, which in other thread appears a wizard to configure the file, i ran it and my entire netweork went off.

Finally i was able to connect both pcs.

I ended configuring shorewall via Webmin and defined zones and rules.

One rule was the responsible of blocking the incoming connection form the windows box, rules.drakx.

Hope it helps for someone else with this problem, i can post further details if needed.
