Postfix Mail Loop

Hey All!

My domain name has two MX servers, one with a priority of 0 and the second with a priority of 20.

When both servers are running. Any messages sent to the 20 priority level server is immediatly passed to the primary. But unfortunatly if the primary is down, the secondary looks up the domain and sees it self as the only available server and sends the message to it self over and over...

I have the backup mx server set to relay messages to the primary mail server for the domain.

Perhaps I have done this in the wrong way.

Is there a better way to do this?

thanks,

David

For obvious reasons I sensored private information.
The substitutions are pretty straight forward so I will not explain. This is the mail log from the server with priority 20. And is calling itself in the log mail2.mydomain.net.

This actually goes on for quite a bit, it tried about 100 times to send it to itself.
