I have installed Redhat Linux(6.2) in a registerd domain Linux server. I have now successfully installed imap -
imap-2000c-10.i386.rpm (SMTP is configured). After installation i opend my xinetd.conf and found the below content.
# # Simple configuration file for xinetd # # Some defaults, and include /etc/xinetd.d/ defaults { instances = 60 log_type = SYSLOG authpriv log_on_success = HOST PID log_on_failure = HOST RECORD } includedir /etc/xinetd.d
I am not able to find pop3 or Telnet
Can u please tell me a solution to install the POP3.In a general case we normally just uncomment the POP3 in the inetd.conf, but here i havent found anything. Can u plz help me to find a solution
look buddy please for gods sake dont give catchy heading
such as urgent and blah blah .... evryone's one work is urgent.
second thing .... i guess ur not a newbie but rather experienced fella ..... so if u dont find pop3 in xinetd then the first logical thing to do is to check if pop is present/installed on ur linux box .
u can run the find comamnd and find out if pop is installed or not.
if u dont find a file called pop then u dont have pop installed ,so try installing pop from the redhat cdrom .
hope this sorts out ..... so before posting think and do some work before rushing-in for help ..... linux community does helps all but atleast take some efforts.
