networking stops working after suspend/hibernate on Ubuntu 10.10


networking stops working after suspend/hibernate on Ubuntu 10.10 and it used to happen on 10.04 though i did not bother to resolve the issue then

Hi there,
In ubuntu perhaps you can restart the icon on the top right hand side. It works for me - on a desktop though.
On my debian machine I log in as root and run /etc/init.d/networking start.
This should work for you. As far as 'why' of the issue is concerned I really do not know. Perhaps we might need to upgrade

I had the exact same problem with an HP Pavilion 480T... something I was reading was saying to turn networking services off in /etc/default/acpi-support. Haven't had a chance to try it yet
