Network shuts down when left overnight

Hi, there's a problem with my Mandrake 10 installation that's been bugging me for a while. I have a Verizon DSL connection with rp-pppoe, and every time I leave the connection on for any length of time -- say, overnight -- the network shuts down and I can't use any internet applications. Applications that are already open work fine, but should my browser crash or I shut it down, it won't work again when I reopen it. I can solve the problem by rebooting, but I can't find any messages in syslog that clue me in on what's happening. Has anyone else seen this before?
