Sorry, no...not only me. NO ONE HERE can follow what you're doing/trying, and that is why we all continue to ask. Did that not occur to you??

I do try exactly what is suggested now I do hold a degree in computer engineering and have 23 years IT experience so I may modify some suggestions into what I am familiar with sorry if that offends you.
Sorry, just don't believe that anyone with 23 years of experience in IT cannot explain an issue, or clearly state what they've tried. Saying "tried both ways" is meaningless, you don't post exact messages, commands that you've tried, etc., or that someone with a 'degree in computer engineering' doesn't know what client/server is in the context of all this.

and for the record I have asked 3 times how to do an SSH on the 3rd time you have finally replied with ssh://<ip address"... and I will try this and tell you what I found and no I have never seen this before and yes that is correct I have not read all the Samba documentation. I did not know about the brackets around code. Thank you for that information
You did NOT 'ask 3 times'...where did you do that??? You realize that others can see what you've posted here, right? The only time you even acknowledged SSH was when you said ' I have not attempted an SSH connection because I an not aware of to do one.' Even after getting explicitly told how to do it, in what program, etc.

Again: you are not asking clear questions, telling people what you've done/tried in a clear manner, nor are you showing ANY effort on your part. You have been handed simple tutorials for Samba, told exactly how to use your existing SSH to do what you're after, and yet you're still asking. With '23 years' experience, it's hard to know why.

Dealing with you is getting tiresome when you are so clearly incorrect you have a very narrow interpretation Of what was said that this forum has become too much of a hassle I am not coming back to this forum. I have no problem with any body else except TBOne.

Except that I have only said what others have also said; sorry you don't like it, but c'mon....point to one thing I've been incorrect about in either of your threads.
  • You claim that no one has told you how to use ssh; yet in post #11, I gave you the command. You claim to have tried it, but post no evidence.
  • You claim that you explained what you did...yet ferrari, ondoho, michaelk, and myself all have to ask you the same questions, and that's just in this thread. This doesn't mean that I'm incorrect...this means that YOU aren't answering questions clearly.
  • I handed you a simple link to a simple Samba setup for Ubuntu (and Zorin is based on Ubuntu). Simple, how-to guide...which you apparently couldn't be bothered to look up or follow. And if you did, you didn't say so.
  • You were given commands to run (testparm, etc.), and asked to post the results. You did not.
  • You claim to have a 'degree in computer engineering', and 23 years of experience...and yet you happily say you didn't bother to read the documentation, and are somehow confused as to why things won't work???
Good luck getting anything from anyone, anywhere, if you continue this pattern of behavior.

50 posts in two threads...no one in either of them could understand your actual question, you refused to say what you've done/tried, give samples of data or post output of commands, and THIS FORUM is 'tiresome' and 'a hassle'???

I know I said I would not return but circumstances force it the last post TBone said I should use SSH to connect since I have never used such a connection or could be made and I did ask 3 times what I did not realize at the time TBone's post 11 contained the answer to this question. All I can say is every post to every forum I have asked or answered I have never received such feedback over the years. So not wanting this exchange to escalate to a war of words I will be removing myself from this forum.

This is demonstrably untrue. Look at post #11.
Additionally, it is not the forum's task to answer questions like "How do I ssh?" - that's for a web or wiki search: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/OpenSSH

23 years my ass.

If you behaved in the same manner on other forums, I find it IMPOSSIBLE to believe no one ever told you to provide details or answer questions. You don't/didn't pay attention, take advice, post responses to questions, etc. There is NO WAY someone with a 'degree' and 23 years experience behaves like that.
