I have a RH-7.3 box that I use as a webserver and a internet
gateway for 2 windows machines all IPs assigned via DHCP from RH-7.3 Samba is setup and my internal network works fine. I
added a RH-9 box I am going to use as a game server.
eth0 is connected to a hub off my cable modem eth1 to
my internal network hub. On boot eth0 goes threw fine
and gets IP from my ISP but eth1 fails and no connectivity
to my internal network I assumed that my RH-7.3 would
assign eth1 of my RH-9 via DHCP but a guess not. Thanks
in advance.
Something is wrong with your setup. My dhcpd server on my RH box gives IP's to anything you plug into my switch bit it windows, RH, knoppix, etc etc with no problem. Either a driver problem or that card is fubar I'd guess.
I am not sure I understand your setup. The redhat7.3 machine is connected to the internet (hub--cable modem) on eth0 and eth1 is connected to an internal hub with win1 and win2 machines, acting as the gateway (router). Then you connect a redhat9 machine, eth0 to the hub--cable modem, and eth1 is connected to the same internal network hub as win1 and win2 right?
Do you have 2 IP addresses from your ISP?
Yes my ISP assigns me 2 ips 1 for each linux box. It may have
something to do with trying to setup a internet gateway
on my eth1 after ones already assigned via eth0.

I think (but i do not know for sure) that you are right. Try setting up eth1 statically instead of using dhcp.
Let me see I if I understand this right- your ISp gives you two IP via DHCP- for your boxes.
If this is true why do it this way setup a router to accept the DHCP from ISP and connect your boxes via hub.
Router gives you a small firewall and no mess with keeping up with IP addresses.
Better if you have an old 486 a round just set it up and use smoothwall software to be your router and firewall.
Then you have a grrreat little Linux network without all the hassles....
