Network counting tool

Hey friends.

In my house i have a little LAN with one Gentoo 2005.1 linux router where i have an DSL link with 1024/256, and 5 hosts each one belonging to different persons. Since here in Portugal we still have to consider how much traffic we download from the internet (because we have traffic limits) and the costs on the link is divided among each user, i would like to know if there is some tool that can actually count the amount of network traffic that each user has made, on a ip address basis or some other way, so in the end of the month each one can know exactly what he/she have downloaded from the line.

This is because my ISP can only provide the total amount of traffic we consumed, and i need to know to wich host the traffic is going to and how much.

Thanks u all in advance.

you can easily run ntop on it to monitor throughput from each local address. http://ntop.org
