Network Connection in Ubuntu and Windows

Hi, I have 2 PCs Ubuntu and Win7 (dual boot) on one and Windows XP on other PC. Please guide me how i can share files and internet connection like we can do in Windows, between Ubuntu and XP (preferably XP as client and Ubuntu as server). I have used samba and it helped me, but i can view other machine(XP) from Ubuntu but not Ubuntu from XP. Help Needed!!!!!!!

You doesn't require to create samba server to access windwos share data from linux.

If you want to share linux data for windows machine you have to configure samba server.

Did you configure samba server on ubuntu machine?

samba on ubuntu
