Network config is not sticky

Hi,

I just installed F13, and many things have changed (was using FC4!).

When I restart my network, my NIC card does not come back up with the correct info, and for the life of me, I can't figure out why.

Here is the NIC info for eth2 when things are correct [Replaced the MAC address due to paranoia, but it's correct on my machine]:

Code:
eth2      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:00:00:00:00:00
          inet addr:192.168.2.1  Bcast:192.168.2.255  Mask:255.255.255.0
          inet6 addr: fe80::baac:6fff:fe8e:57d2/64 Scope:Link
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:20049014 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:23655976 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:4143958682 (3.8 GiB)  TX bytes:3976492772 (3.7 GiB)
          Interrupt:16
Here is the cfg file:

Code:
# Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5722 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express
DEVICE=eth2
NAME="System eth2"
HWADDR=00:00:00:00:00:00
ONBOOT=yes
IPADDR=192.168.2.1
BROADCAST=192.168.2.255
BOOTPROTO=static
NETWORK=192.168.2.0
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
TYPE=Ethernet
IPV6INIT=no
USERCTL=no
PREFIX=30
DEFROUTE=no
IPV4_FAILURE_FATAL=yes
UUID=abcdefg

However, this is what happens when the network is restarted:

Code:
eth2      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:00:00:00:00:00
          inet addr:192.168.2.1  Bcast:192.168.2.3  Mask:255.255.255.252
          inet6 addr: fe80::baac:6fff:fe8e:57d2/64 Scope:Link
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:20050519 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:23657212 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:4144274014 (3.8 GiB)  TX bytes:3977257301 (3.7 GiB)
          Interrupt:16
Notice that the Bcast and Mask values are WRONG!!

I have no idea where these come from.

Any hints??

Thank you!!!
=David

Have you tried to simplify things and keep the basic old parameters?

# Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5722 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express
DEVICE=eth2
HWADDR=00:00:00:00:00:00
BOOTPROTO=static
ONBOOT=yes
IPADDR=192.168.2.1
BROADCAST=192.168.2.255
NETWORK=192.168.2.0
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
USERCTL=no

Ok, thanks.

Turns out that it was the PREFIX setting that caused the problem.
