Netstat -s, TCP Retransmissions counters

Hello,

I'm sending some TCP traffic between two hosts and using netstat -s to see some statistics. I can see that netstat show many kinds of retransmits, like fast retransmit, retransmits in slow start and forward retransmit. I didn't find nothing describing the latter on the internet. What does forward retransmits mean?
Do you have any documentation regarding all TCP retransmissions in Linux?

Thanks in advance!

Forward RTO-Recovery is in RFC 5682.

Not standards-wise as in the TCP/IP Suite? Just "in Linux"? I think you want to start reading something like www.tcpipguide.com ...

I'll take a look at this guide later. But, do you have a guide explaining the details of each counter on linux?

On netstat -s I can see two counters: segments send out and segments retransmited. Does the segments send out already contains the segments retransmited on its total?

Thanks!
