I got these devices from AT&T/BellSouth. On Ubuntu 8.10, I used ndiswrapper to install the driver (rt73) for the Netopia 3D Reach USB wireless card, model # TER/GUSB2-N. Then I installed rutilt v0.18 and went thru the hoops with it. Correct ESSID, passphrase, etc. The green light came on, but is solid. The orange light flashes rapidly.
The gateway (2wire 2701hg-b) doesn't recognize the Netopia device. I've triple-checked my input in both the nm-connection-editor and rutilt; both are spot-on. The ndis module is loaded, as lsmod shows:
Code:
Module Size Used by
ndiswrapper 196380 0
...and iwconfig shows...
Code:
wlan0 IEEE 802.11g Mode:Ad-Hoc Frequency:2.412 GHz

Sensitivity=-121 dBm

Power Management:off

I've googled for this, and tried ubuntu forums. Found similar issues, but nothing i recognized as a solution. And if I missed it here on LQ, please point me to a relevant post. And boy, I mean
please.
I've been doing this almost 4 hours. TIA!
[SOLVED] Okay...I rebooted and everything works fine. Sorry!
