Enemy Territory Probs When try to connect

Install went fine but when I try to get into a game it DLs some pkgs and then it crashes, when I look at the term for errors I get,
"WARNING: file etmain/UrbanTerritory.pk3 obtained through download redirect has wrong checksum this likel means the server configuration is broken
Need paks: etmail/UbanTerritory.pk3 (local file exists with wrong checksum)

This happens to all of the files that I DL, from a server ( which it seems to me that they all have a lot of different paks. I downloaded the game from 3dGamers, the et-linux-2.56-2.x86.run, so I think Im up-to-date as far as patch goes **correct me if im wrong**, but I really like RTCW and I would like to see how this game is thanks

Hi BlackRob!!!

Looks like you've been playing in an evil server. Period. Some servers force you to download their custom paks, and looks like that one had a custom pak with the same name as an official map. That generates a problem when connecting to a server. All I can recommend is:

1 - Uninstall and make sure to delete everything related to ET, specially the maps/pak
2 - Reinstall the game and disable the option to automatically download packages on the options menu.

I hate online multiplayer because of this... all servers wants to upload junk to make something "funnier" since CS. Either being for commercials of homepages (UK servers, anyone?) or downloading silly sounds which does not fit at all into the game (Headshot, Killing Spree, Fight!! on CS, anyone?) or even downloading noobish silly maps(usually big files too with an slow server, argh)...

But looks like that is kids' dream of making a...cough, cough... CLAN...ghehehe

Good luck!
