Netgear and Linux

For me the biggest downside to trying to make the switch to Linux is the inability to easily configure a Netgear USB wireless adapter. I have tried on Red Hat 9.0 and Mandrake 9.2 and still no luck. These are admittedly free distros so maybe that is the problem. I wanted to give them a try and see whcih one I liked best. I think I am going to go with Red Hat.

Back to my question. Is there an easy way or a good link to use to get netgear MA101 USB wireless adapter used for the internet on Linux, probaly Red Hat sysytem. The system sees the adapter in it's hardware files, but it just doesn't know to use it for the internet.

Keep in mind that I am a newbie to Linux so if you have a fix, You will have to go easy on me with the technical stuff

Since you're in the usa, your device has an FCCID printed on it somewhere, what is that number?, which can then be fed to the fcc's site and used to view exhibits of your device disassembled in order to view the names on the chips which will in turn identify the correct driver for it. (if one exists)

Thanks Imode100, I will check those links later.

I will also see if I can find the drivers. I may have been to the wlan site already and I think they have the solution to the problem. Thanks.
